Helen Lokuta

EDUCATION AND WORK
Helen Lokuta graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2002 (the class of Pille Lill and Prof. Tamara Novichenko). She has also studied in Karlsruhe University of Music (2000) and Karlsruhe Opera Highschool (2001) with Prof. Maria Venuti.
Helen Lokuta was a guest soloist of the Estonian National Opera in 2001–2006 and is a soloist since 2006.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
In 2005 she received the Pille Lill Music Foundation award Young Musician in the name of the foundation’s patron Lord Carlisle’s and in 2007 she received the Estonian Annual Annual Theatre Award for the title role in Rossini’s opera “La Cenerentola” and for the roles in Tõnu Kõrvits’ chamber operas “Fire Garden” and “My Swans and My Thoughts” (in cooperation with Von Krahl Theatre and Nargen Opera), the Estonian Cultural Endowment Prize 2007 for her opera roles and the SEB Audience Award 2011, 2015 and 2019.
